At Clearview Laser Vision Center we understand that the decision
to undergo laser vision correction is a serious one and should
not be made quickly, but carefully.
KNOW THE FACTS! There are many reasons we recommend that patients
become educated before undergoing LASIK eye surgery. All laser
centers are not created equal, so knowing what to ask before
moving forward can be of great benefit to all prospective patients
to ensure you will be receiving the quality care you deserve.
Fees
Clearview Laser Vision Center offers competitive prices with
regards to fees for laser vision correction. Drs. Lehmann
and Ryne understand that fees are certainly an important aspect
in choosing which facility to perform your LASIK procedure.
Technology
At Clearview Laser Vision Center we pride ourselves in offering
the latest in technology with competitive prices. We provide
our patients a caring environment and an ongoing commitment
to quality care. We have the two most widely used lasers in
the United States and both have eye-trackers.
With respect to technology, do not settle for a laser that
does not have eye-tracking capabilities. There are 6 FDA approved
lasers in the United States and only 3 of them have eye-tracking
systems. Some advertisements do not fully disclose whether
or not their laser have eye-trackers. In fact some centers
have one laser with a tracker and one without. They advertise
the fee for the non-tracking laser and charge more the tracking
laser.
FREE Screening
At Clearview our screenings are always provided at no charge.
Dr. Ryne personally conducts each and every screening at 9:00am,
1:00pm & 4:00pm daily. No salespeople or telemarketers
will contact you after your screening.
Some centers advertise a free screening, however, in many
instances a salesperson or technician conducts the screening.
In order to be seen by a doctor they charge a fee, even though
this fee will be deducted from your LASIK procedure it actually
creates a financial barrier to keep you from visiting other
centers.
At Clearview our goal is not to do the highest volume of
surgeries but to provide a level of patient care second to
no one. We treat patients like we would like to be treated!
There is nothing inherently wrong with high volume laser
centers. However some centers perform as many as 200 surgeries
on a single day. It can be quite challenging to provide personalized
attention with one hundred people in the laser center on surgery
day.
In addition to the considerations listed above, we have composed
the following questions, which are important considerations
each and every patient should ask before proceeding with laser
vision correction. At Clearview Laser Vision Center, our state
of the art facility provides the best technology has to offer.
Does the laser center offer blade-free IntraLASIK?
Safer, all-laser (blade-free) LASIK is available at Clearview!
An FDA-approved technology called IntraLASIK removes the mechanical
device entirely and replaces is with the precision of a laser.
This makes IntraLASIK the first all-computerized, all-laser
(blade-free) approach to LASIK surgery ever. It offers remarkable
control and unmatched safety and precision to virtually eliminate
the major sources of complications.
How many procedures has the surgeon performed?
Dr. Robert Lehmann has performed well over 12,000 laser vision
correction procedures. Dr. Lehmann has been the regional medical
director for the largest provider of laser vision correction
in the United States and Canada. Numerous eye care professionals
have chosen Dr. Lehmann to operate on their own eyes as well
as over a hundred spouses and/or staff members of eye care
professionals. Dr. Lehmann has performed laser vision correction
on numerous other health care professionals such as surgeons,
orthodontists, dentists, physicians, and nurses, etc. Two
golfers on the PGA tour, as well as a golfer from the LPGA
tour have also chosen Dr. Lehmann as their surgeon.
What kind of laser will be utilized during my procedure?
At Clearview Laser Vision Center we are one of the few laser
centers to offer both the VISX Star S4 and the LADARVision
laser by Alcon Surgical. Having both lasers enables our doctors
to match a patient's prescription to the laser best suited
for their particular needs. Both of our lasers offer patients
eye tracking devices, which adds a level of safety to the
procedure; we highly recommend lasers with this capability.

Does the laser suite have a Liebert system?
Early on in the development of this technology we learned
the importance of always performing the procedures under the
same atmospheric conditions for each and every patient. The
VISX Star laser only removes 1/4000 millimeter of tissue per
pulse, but depending on humidity, temperature and air current
over a patient’s eyes there can be variations. To control
these variables, Clearview Laser Vision Center has installed
a Liebert System that keeps the temperature, humidity and
airflow constant for each and every patient regardless of
outside weather conditions. Liebert systems are highly recommended
by laser manufacturers.
